About This Project

Project Overview
Glencar delivered the design and construction of a 42,500 sq ft industrial and warehouse building at Exeter Logistics Park for Stoford Developments. Situated on a 3.30-acre plot, the development was tailored to meet the requirements of an end-user occupier, with sustainability embedded at the core of the scheme.

The project achieved BREEAM ‘Very Good’ and EPC ‘A’ ratings and was delivered as Net Zero Carbon in Construction, reflecting a strong commitment to responsible development and long-term performance.

Glencar’s Role
Operating under a Design & Build contract, Glencar was responsible for the full delivery of the scheme, including construction of the warehouse, office accommodation, external works, landscaping and installation of mechanical and electrical systems.

Scope of Works
Warehouse & Office Construction
Construction of a 42,500 sq ft industrial and warehouse building incorporating integrated office space designed to provide a modern and efficient working environment.

External Works & Landscaping
Delivery of external car parking, landscaping works and attenuation ponds to support sustainable drainage and enhance the overall site environment.

Building Services
Installation of full mechanical and electrical systems, along with an upgraded power supply to accommodate future tenant requirements and ensure operational flexibility.

Sustainability & ESG
Sustainability was central to the scheme, with integrated photovoltaic panels, EV charging infrastructure and sustainable urban drainage systems incorporated into the design. The development achieved BREEAM ‘Very Good’ and EPC ‘A’ ratings, alongside Net Zero Carbon in Construction, aligning with both client and occupier environmental objectives.

Technical & Delivery Challenges
Delivering a sustainability-focused scheme within a 30-week programme required careful coordination of design, procurement and construction activities to maintain quality, programme certainty and environmental performance targets.

Completed in May 2024, DC9 Exeter Logistics Park provides a high-specification, future-ready industrial facility that balances operational efficiency with strong environmental credentials, supporting long-term occupier success in East Devon.
