Next phase takes shape at Indurent Park Newport

Construction progresses at pace on Wales' largest new-build industrial and logistics development for the next phase of Indurent Park Newport, South Wales.

Construction is progressing rapidly on the next phase of Indurent Park Newport, with Glencar continuing to drive forward delivery of five new industrial and logistics units at South Wales’ leading industrial and logistics park.

Appointed earlier this year by Indurent, one of the UK’s leading owners, developers and operators of modern industrial and logistics space, Glencar is delivering the design and construction of Units 11, 12, 14, 15 and 16 at the 100-acre development.

Since commencing works on site, significant progress has been achieved across the scheme, with earthworks, infrastructure and ground improvement activities substantially advanced and structural works now well underway.

PROJECT STATUS UPDATE

  • Foundation works nearing completion site wide
  • 35% of steel frames erected
  • First unit now structurally complete
  • Second and third units underway with steel frame
  • Drainage works commenced and ongoing
  • Roofing and cladding works commenced and ongoing
  • Curtain walling and glazing works commenced and ongoing
  • Upper floor composite decks underway and ongoing

The next phase will deliver five units ranging from 44,071 sq ft to 115,045 sq ft, further strengthening Indurent Park Newport’s position as Wales’ premier industrial and logistics destination.

Strategically located to connect South Wales with the South West of England, the development has been designed to accommodate a diverse range of industrial, manufacturing and logistics occupiers while supporting regional economic growth and inward investment.

As main contractor, Glencar’s scope includes the delivery of all buildings, service yards, car parking, utilities infrastructure, drainage, landscaping and associated external works.

The development is targeting BREEAM ‘Excellent’ and EPC A+ ratings, with sustainability embedded throughout the design and construction process. Features include roofs designed to accommodate 100% photovoltaic coverage, EV charging infrastructure and enhanced power capacity to support future occupier requirements.

Upon completion, the development will provide over 356,000 sq ft of new industrial and logistics accommodation, helping to meet growing occupier demand across South Wales and the wider UK market.

Construction remains on programme, with practical completion targeted for 31st December 2026.

Operations Director at Glencar

It is extremely positive to see the progress being made across the development and the momentum that has been established by the project team since commencing on site.

Indurent Park Newport is one of the most significant industrial and logistics developments currently under construction in Wales, and our team has worked collaboratively with Indurent and the wider consultant team to successfully progress the project through its early phases and into the next stage of construction.

This is our first project with Indurent, and the relationship has developed strongly from day one. We are proud to be supporting the delivery of such an important scheme and look forward to maintaining this momentum as we move towards completion.

Jamie Payne

Construction Director at Indurent

The progress achieved to date is a reflection of the collaborative approach adopted by the entire project team. Seeing the development take shape is an important milestone and reinforces our commitment to delivering high-quality, sustainable industrial space in strategically important locations.

We are pleased with the progress being made and look forward to bringing these buildings to market as construction continues.
