About This Project

Project Overview
Axis Park, Peterborough involved the design and construction of eight new industrial units arranged in two blocks of four, extending the existing central block of units within the park. Each unit provides modern industrial accommodation with an internal mezzanine floor of approximately 3,150 sq ft, offering flexibility for office or ancillary use. The development was delivered within an established industrial estate, with the new units designed to integrate with the existing park layout. Associated external works, car parking and services were delivered to support occupier access and day-to-day operations. The completed scheme enhances the overall capacity and functionality of Axis Park as a key industrial location in Peterborough.

Project Requirements
The client required the expansion of an existing industrial park through the delivery of new, flexible industrial units capable of meeting modern occupier requirements. Key objectives included providing adaptable unit layouts with integrated mezzanine space, efficient servicing arrangements and sufficient car parking. The new development needed to integrate seamlessly with the existing units and infrastructure within the park. Delivery within a defined programme was required to align with the client’s wider asset strategy and leasing objectives.

Glencar’s Role
Glencar was appointed as main contractor to deliver the design and construction of the new industrial units and associated external works, coordinating all activities through to completion and handover.

Technical & Delivery Challenges
Delivering new industrial units within an operational industrial park required careful coordination to manage interfaces with existing buildings, infrastructure and occupiers. Sequencing works across two separate blocks demanded detailed planning to maintain programme certainty and site safety. Integrating mezzanine structures within each unit required close coordination with base build construction to ensure flexibility for future fit-out.
