Glencar has announced the appointment of Grigory Grebennikov as its new Carbon Specialist. This pivotal role within the company’s Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) team signals a significant step forward in its drive towards achieving sustainable practices across its operations.
Grigory brings extensive experience to Glencar, having previously worked at Mott MacDonald and contributing to transformative projects for commercial developments such as Google’s new headquarters, major infrastructure projects including airports and seaports, and decarbonising existing and future NHS buildings.
As Carbon Manager, Grigory will spearhead Glencar’s sustainability strategy, focusing on reducing carbon emissions, enhancing resource efficiency, and embedding environmentally responsible practices across the business and its supply chain. He brings years of expertise in building decarbonisation, carbon compliance, and sustainable building certifications.
With a proven track record of delivering net-zero carbon strategies, whole-life carbon assessments, and supporting certifications such as BREEAM, LEED and WELL across diverse sectors, Grigory’s appointment signifies Glencar’s commitment to creating a greener future.
In his role as Carbon Manager, Grigory will focus on:
- Carbon Reduction Strategies: Developing and implementing initiatives to lower operational and embodied carbon across the business.
- Sustainable Building Practices: Collaborating with project teams to incorporate low-carbon materials, energy-efficient designs, and renewable energy solutions.
- ESG Reporting and Compliance: Ensuring Glencar exceeds industry benchmarks and complies with government and client-specific sustainability standards.
- Net-Zero Pathway: Establishing and monitoring KPIs aligned with Glencar’s net-zero roadmap, tracking progress against science-based targets.
- Supply Chain Collaboration: Engaging with suppliers to embed low carbon materials and sustainability practices, ensuring consistent adoption of greener technologies and processes.
